For you in the Charlotte area there is a new park that opened in Waxhaw, NC just southeast from Charlotte.

I'll try and find some finished photos, the park was build by a local skater and so far it's been a huge success. It's open from sun up to sunset, there have been a few problems but hopefully there will be no more issues.
