Snowskating like Skateboarding?

Is snowskating the same as snowbaording just on snow? Or is it something totally different? I know i sound noobish, just wondering, and do you think a skateboard deck would get ruined if i used it on snow?

well there are subtle differences. For actual snowskating there are snowskates which are a little larger than skateboards, made from a different material and have more concave i believe. I dont have one so I just use an old skateboard deck for when it snows. I would advise against using the deck you currently are skating for snowskating and then using it again.

snowskates are different. they are like skating a really heavy deck. i find them really hard to use. to do trick on them you need speed that is hard to get with them, without a hill. and once you get speed they are nearly impossible to turn/controle. i might be just bad at them. but im a pretty good skater and i find them hard so i would assume that they are not like skating.
