Ok, as some of you know, I just got my setup, but just for the record I have some questions. I have Venture trucks, and as a friend and I were skating he said that Venture trucks suck so much shit. That bothered me later on to because I don't know anything about trucks. Independent ,Krux, and Venture, are the only brands I know. Can you guys tell me what you think (in your opinion) is the best set of trucks out there?
Now, as far as wheels, I have Spitfires ?mm(s). If I get a new board, what wheels should I be on the lookout for? Is it better to get a brand wheel such as mine, or the very so often seen blank wheels. They are just a kind of white/peachish color and they have no brand name and seem to roll pretty well. Any suggestions would be utmost appreciated.
This just came up to my head, and it's about a deck.(I know in the thread title it says wheels and Truck help only. ;)) I was reading about some of the decks, a little bit on the higher quality side.I see that FIGHT! is a very hyped and anticipated board on this website so I checked it out myself. I downloaded their promo video, Live Free + FIGHT! (It's neat BTW.) and I looked at some reviews on other sites as well as this one, and the Warbird seems to be favored among many skaters. The plot...... Warbird > RASA?
(Is Warbird greater than RASA?)
EDIT:I was looking through an online skateshop and they seem to have alot in stock under the hardware section. Does it really matter which companies bolts you have?

Ok well about the trucks.. ventures are actually pretty good. i have two sets myself. they're all i skate. forget what your friend says man ventures own! lol. and the wheels. just get some blank ones. they're just as good as the logo ones. all the difference really is that the logo one's have a logo on it haha. and...i always get like blank decks or shop brand decks because they're like two times cheaper than the popular brands. i think blanks are just as good as the expensive ones. your choice

Ventures are awesome. Your friend can't have skated many trucks if he doesn't know that.

Ok, that answers the truck question, Ventures rape. Now that still leaves unanswered questions.

Here's my input:
I skate Indys, and love 'em, though other people bum on 'em.
I am presently riding Spitfire wheels, and like them, though others may hate on 'em. When these wear out, I'll probably try some blank wheels in the size I like to ride, and save a bit of $, fwiw.
My board works great for me and my skating, so I don't trip on what someone else says, ya know?
I encourage you to do the same. Ventures are cool trucks, especially if YOU like 'em. Your wheels are fine. As for hardware, I believe there is phillips-head and allen-head. The choice is yours.
Go skating and have some fun!

i personaly hate ventures i like tensor trucks and weels if you like tech skating. id hit up some smaller mm wheels. smallest you can find haha. and bigger for faster hessian type skaters. wheel type type i find dont matter i personaly dont like the ones with the shock obsorbant things on them. they wear down really fast. just standered weels normally do me fine.

Good luck finding a gurur, but if you are looking for a "Guru" then I can impart some of my wisdom on you.
Ventures are not nearly as bad as they are made out to be. They aren't the best, but they are far from "rape" material.
Independents are better then Ventures. They have fewer flaws, are longer lasting, and tougher. I would recommend Independents.
As for the best set of trucks out there, you will never find a definitive answer. Try your friend's decks; see if their trucks are better. My favourite trucks are none other then Ventures, but that's just me.

Well, to be honest, brand wheels aren't a lot better UNLESS they are Ricta's. I doubt you are going to care if you have blank wheels, Spitfire's, or Ricta's. They are all wheels, and they all roll. If you want a recommendation, I would say blank's, Pig's, or Ricta's. I ride Pig wheels and wouldn't have it any other way.

RASA as in Rasa Libre? Even though I've never rode a Fight!, I'm going to have to go with Rasa Libre. Have fun finding them as easily as Fight! boards though. I'm not ragging on Fight!, I just have never rode them. I have rode Rasa Libre, and it's amazing. So, I stand by what I said.
EDIT:I was looking through an online skateshop and they seem to have alot in stock under the hardware section. Does it really matter which companies bolts you have?
Not really. If your hardware is going to break, the brand isn't going to save you. Most skaters just ride Shorty's, but if you can get cheaper harder, go for it.
Hopefully that helps you. Sorry I couldn't help you with the "gurur".

To follow up on this convo. I was looking online and I found some ventures for $16.99. Now, are these going to be good or are they going to be bad trucks because I've snapped two different trucks.

if you like your ventures, forget what your friend says. my favorite trucks are definantly venture, and I will even say, that it is a proven fact that there are stronger kingpins out there, but it's not like you are gonna buy the trucks and the kingpins break in 2 days.
as for wheels, they really don't matter. i specifically don't like spitfires though. idk. i just don't like them. i do like rictas though, but really any wheels will do.
