It does matter what kind of board you use. That board may be ok for now because you're a beginner, but later on you will need a real board to do more. I think your ollies will be higher if you get a non-toy/ department store board.

i learned to ollie on a walmart board, and then i moved up to a pro board so skate ur walmart board for a little longer and then move up to a pro board when ur ollies improve, you'll be amazed on how good ur ollies got by goign from a walmart board to a pro board

does your board have concave? or is it just flat because if it has concave u should be able to learn more than just ollie on it and it should last a little longer, just get a new board when that one snaps.

It matters more than you can imagine, but when youre new it won't make a difference.

^ it might be cheaper to just buy a pro deck complete straight away.

Try new things on your crappy setup, and when you have enough money, buy a good one.
