I have a quick question about editing. Me and my friend are doing a basic job just to learn with windows movie maker. When we uploaded our footage it came up as one long stream...my question is is how do we seperate this into individual clips?

Alright, put it on Timeline, and bring it to the spot where you want it to split *You can do this by pausing the bit and moving it back and forth* and when you got it where you want it, press the "Clip" button and go down to Split, press that and it'll split the clips, you can repeat the process as many times as needed in as many places as needed. =)

you gotta have the time set up on your camcorder...then it automatically splits it into clips

time???-what do u mean-my cam splits them but not in the on off recording way just randomly split into like 20 clips

if you go into the settings, you gotta set up the time and date...for example, 10:18 pm on 7/16/83
that's what your camera uses to properly add breaks into the film.
