Grip tape rip?

Alright I had a patch of grip tape come off on my new board. It the 2nd time of ridden on it. Its odd because it ripped in an odd flame looking thing. The piece missing is really smooth and curvy. It doesnt look like it just ripped. Anyone have any thoughts? Is it bad to skate with grip tape missing? Its like maybe a 3x3 inch piece.

It might have been an intentional flame that didn't pop out in production. Don't worry about it.

People cut designs into their grip all the time. Like Nova said, it might have been intentional. If it's just above the back nuts then it's fine cause your foot never touches that spot, mostly.
