Mystery. Dont give me shit because you say the wood is "bad". Its really not bad wood. They have great pop and shape. They skate nice. Now if you say they suck because of the shape, then thats perfectly fine, but the wood isnt an excuse except dwindle.
Either mystery of foundation.

Well, frankly I dont care what deck I have. I usually just go with the blanks they have in store and I think you should too. I find decks too expensive.

in all honesty, mystery sucks because of the wood. black box chips way too fast.
and in my friends' and my own past experience, black box wood sucks.

Foundation has great boards. I am talking about their standard 7-ply boards, not the new special manufacturing boards.
I got a Foundation on Aug. 27, '06. The board road extremely well, and was fairly quick on getting used to. I ollied a large 4 only hours after I had set it up. It lasted me till about Early November. This board went through a beating after me getting really angry and stomping on it for a while, this happened in October. I stomped on it, threw it around, but no pressure cracks appeared. The board held up very well to me landing on the tail a lot. I started "Burning" [Razoring] into the 4th ply at the end of September. I had skated that thing a lot, a lot, and a lot. 3-5 hours just about everyday. At that time I had noticed a decrease in pop.
The overall pop of the board was about 8/10, and when I had noticed the decrease-it was still about 5/10.
Go for it.

It just depends on what deck you get, not the brand.
People say
"Thees sux, that sux, this is muuuch better, Lolz rofl this is teh ownage!"
-Any noob (hence the bad grammar)
But really, it just depends on what deck you get out of the brand.
Flip is an overall pretty bad ass board, but some of their decks are greater than others. Ex. I have a Mark Appleyard Flip, and I also have a Flip Logo, both are the same brand, but the logo is better.
Since you are a beginner (such as I) I just recommend that you go for a board with a design on the deck that you like. Any of the decks in a local skate shop is a "good beginner board" and you really don't need to worry about the brand until later on when you get better. Honestly, you won't even be able to tell if a board has a lot of pop, no pop, good concave or not, etc etc. So don't stress out and just get a board that you will like for now.
Whatever you do though............................................ ............................
Don't get World Industries or Element, they suck. :P

hahahaha. it's funny how you are saying exactly what "any noob" would say.
The only way one flip would be better than another is the shape.
flip = flip. blitz = blitz.

flips are ok. but there are way better boards, go with a nice solid blank (not a brand, just a rigid deck.)
