Okay here is my guide to land your kickflips with both feet instead of just one or the other.
Step 1:
You need to be in a place with carpet or grass, bring your normal deck and a deck without trucks or wheels.
Step 2:
Take the deck with no wheels and practice your kickflips on the carpet or grass (or even cement if you want to, but it will be loud) and even though you may not be able to get the full rotation, try landing on it with both feet on the bottom side of the deck. Keep trying until you do!
Step 3:
Now take your normal skateboard (w/ wheels and trucks) and try kickflips on the grass or carpet (or cement if you want to). Think that the deck with wheels doesnt have wheels, pretend its the deck you were just on. If your still landing with one foot, go back to step 2, then do step 3 again with the 2 boards close to each other. Continue until you get your kickflips!
Hope this helps you guys! Post if there are parts you dont understand.

Yes the concept but in all reality two different things.
First off, never learn a trick on carpet or grass.
Second the problem is they are just kicking too far.
Third to solve it, just go out roll and kickflip. Commit to the damn thing and no matter what try to land with both feet.

Exactly. When they start trying to land tricks rolling, the first thing they will do is fall backwards since they are not used to the rolling motion while trying the trick.

whats the point of not falling, falling just makes u get used to it and not be afraid to do a trick, basically falling is better than not falling if u are learning, no one is perfect.

sure.
but when you skateboard, you move. so.. if youre going for that goal of tricks while moving.. why learn them while not moving? the physics are totally different and you have to move your body different, because foreward momentum is taken out of the picture.
muscle memory is what makes you able to do tricks constantly.. those little motions that make it happen are stored in your muscles. if your muscles memorize different movements (those learned while not moving), then when you start moving, they dont move the right way. your weight is held differently when youre not going anywhere.. so your body is confused when you add foreward movement/momentum.

its a good help at the moment though. its one of his advice threads and if he thinks its gonna help someone then let him do what he wants. you never know what might happen. it might help someone alot.

I usually get a full rotation while moving, but not when I'm stationary.

I see how you could advance from your method. Just would have to start really slow and gain speed. Ill just stick to moving personally.

In my opion no.
Because when rolling it is more of a foward motion.
But whatever tickles the fancy.

learning on carpet or grass is fine. the point isn't that you can't do it moving, whether the movements are the same or a little bit different...either way you are building up muscle memory for that particular trick, and once you have that it is a lot easier to progress to moving tricks.
i have been skateboarding for years and i still practice and learn new things on carpet. if you can't land kickflips with two feet it won't hurt to ask for help or try and help somebody else.

yeah thats a thought. maybe if your struggling with the kickflips then set up a trick help thread.
