I just started skateboarding. I am probably the worst skater there ever was, is there anything I could use to learn the basics? The first thing I want to learn is how to ride without falling off the board, I can't really balance myself. All of my friends skate, and have been for at least 2 years. I've started late, I'm 14 and haven't skated a day in my life. Literally everybody in my youth group skates, so while they're skating all I can do is sit and watch, then all they talk about is skateboarding. So I'm always left out and none of them will teach me. I'm eager to start, but I have no clue how.

Hey dude, I'm 22 and i'm jsut starting, don't let age be an obsticle. You've already taken a good first step, searching out forums are a good way to get advice and tips on anything you need to know. Just browse the forum for the info, then all it will take is a whole lot fo practice. Don't get discouraged, you'll catch up to your friends eventually :)

dont feel like youre the worst, everyone needs to start somewhere and everyone had no idea what they were doign at one point. You should just keep practicing moving around alot and practice kickturns, and dont get discouraged!

hey, i'm 19 and pretty much just starting out...yeah i used to have a crappy dept store board and used to play around on it...but i haven't actually used it in a few years...and most of the guys on here seem to know what they're talking about.

use RR, any friends you have that skate, the local skate shops, etc. to get advice and stuff...it really helps
