change element to, a alienworkshop or habitat, and independents are ok, but get some bones bearings the cheapest ones are the reds, they are like $16.

Change the deck to anything from DNA, Deluxe, or Tum Yeto. Indy's are nice. Change the bearing to Reds or Rocket if you have enough money.

Yeah, big let down on the element deck.
Indy's are good, yo'll be fine with them.
Lucky's are, metiokre, buy some Swiss Competition bearing if you want quality. If you bought LUcky because of their ABEC rating, ABEC doesn't mean shit in skate bearings.

i dont know if i can trust reds anymore. i've only had 2 pairs. my first pair was so good, the bearings were great after i broke them in, but i broke my tail one day at a park, and i had my trucks and wheels lying by my backpack and someone stole them. so then i got a new setup for xmas with reds, and just 2 days ago one of my bearings exploded. i've never exploded a bearing in my life and i've been skating for 5 years.

Whoa, havent been on this site in a while. i agree with dookie, reds quality is going down, i just got a new set 2 weeks ago, my old bearings are faster already.
you might want to get a blank or a local shop deck instead of the element, and dont worry about graphics, they will get worn off once you learn boardslides. my friend has luckys bearings, they are pretty sick.

Independents are the best trucks you will ever find. Unless you like not being able to turn. It's yer call.

Independents may be good. But every board ive rode on with independents are heavy as ****. But i like destructo and krux.

I remember you giving me shit about posting how fast I break bearings(its cool though). Prolly harder wheels or something. They seem to **** bearings up much faster. I have had the same pair of shittty walmart/reds/speedemons/halos mix of bearings and have only broke a halo but I have been riding large soft wheels instead of wicked hard wheels.

Indys are great and are my truck of choice, but even if you decide to get some other truck, be sure to get one of the known makes, like Thunder, Venture, Krux, among others the many others. Bunk trucks are really a bummer. Shop decks and blank wheels are cool, particularly if you're just getting started, but IMO good trucks are essential as they will probably last the longest of your skateboard's components, and play a big role in your turning and stability.
As for bearings, it's not going to make THAT big of a difference for you right now. I thought I had Bones Reds, but in actuality, I've got Halo bearings, that are allegedly ABEC 7s. They're the "house" bearing at my local shop, and they're cool for my needs. When I bought my skate a few months ago, my buddy just put the basic stuff on my board, and I didn't complain. When these bearings are toast, I'll throw 'em in the trash and try something else, in the $16 price range.
