View Full Version : Shortness Affect Deck Size?

I'm pretty short, so my legs are short. Should I get a 7.75 or a 7.5, becuase I have no idea what I'm skating now, and I have to decide between the two decks on Fight!
Also: Are the Warbird and FIGHT! logo deck same shape/concave/pop etc.?

Really shouldnt affect anything. Unless your like small child sizes. What do you normally ride?

The Fight! logo is supposed to have a more rounded nose and tail, while the warbird has a tapered tail, like a lot of other brands. They both have awsome pop from what I heard and a killer shape. The logo has deep concave while warbird has a medium concave.

It's all personal preference. But my small friends usually ride small decks. I'd imagine they'd be easier to skate.

^^ and wayyy easier to flip
really shouldn't matter so much, if you have very large feet you might wanna go for a wider board.

I'am 5'4, not big at all, and 120 pounds.
I skate with a 7.75, and nothing bigger than a 7.8.
With bigger boards i feel limited in my more technical tricks, and whilst landing might be a little easier on a wider board, i feel like have have to really huck my whole frame to get the board to 360 flip.
But when i skate a 7.5 the board feels so small, and my tricks out of control. spins and flips too fast.
7.75 feels perfect :)

to me it all about the shoes size the bigger the shoe the wider i skate like i ride 7.75 and 8.0 cuz i where 10.5 shoes and if i have a smaller deck i look stupied and its harder to stick stuff but better flips i gotta say!

Shoe size doesn't matter unless you wear like size 6s. I wear 10s, only 5'10'' and skate 8'' and up. Anything smaller feels like a stick. Bigger boards I can catch easier and control easier.

u should get wat feels right for you.
btw if u wanna know how big ur board is, get a ruler and measure the board in inches. i did that to find out wat i was skating.

get whats right doesnt matter
1 of my friends rides 7.5 baker boards and he wears like 12 or 13. his shoes look like ski's cuz he's only like 5'7 probably lol
another 1 of my friend's skates 8.25 real boards and he wear's size 14 so it all depends on whatcha like
go to your shop and stand on some boards or try out other people's and see what you feel comfortable on

best thing is to step onto a couple of boards and see which feels best, alot of people will say go by foot size but I dont think thats too reliable cause I wear 11-12 sized shoes, and I skate 7.5-7.75

^^^Not really. If you have the time and comittment, you can get used to any size. Even if now, you think that size is awkward. Before I got a 7.5 deck, I thought 7.75 was a great size. Now, I think I'd be fine with a 7.625. I took me a month or so to get used to 7.5.

Blaze is right, Just go to your local skate shop, ask for some different sized decks and stand on em to see how they feel. Then choose what youd like to get.

Have you ever had one?
Normally its 7.5-7.75, but 8 and 8.125 is normal too.
Just ride and see whats most comfy.
