help with wheels??

ok so im pretty new to skateboarding and i am wanting to know how you know when its time to change your wheels. thanks for any help

I change my wheels whenever they get small, or cracked.

ONe time i bought some blank wheels that were hard as shit, and they cracked. i didn't really want to spend money on a new pair, so i just kept skating the cracked ones.

I was going fairly fast, when i ollied off a 3ft ledge, and kept going, but suddenly my board went out of control. i slammed my shoulder into the ground, and just lay there. i got up, swearing perfusely, and looked at my board.
The back right wheel was missing, the cracked one. scattered bits of wheels were skattered everywhere, and my axle was all ****ed up.
I guess when i landed, the impact cracked the wheel even further, and it just deteriated.

never skate cracked wheels. buy a good pair ;)

ok thanks, oh also is it the harder the wheel the better it is for vert and the softer, the better for street or do i have it backwards, or does it even matter that much?

It really DOESNT matter. it's all personal preference.
