I've recently started skating again after a couple year break, I've still got my old set-up of Baker deck, phantom trucks, ricta wheels, lucky bearings, but Its kind of lost some of its pop and I want something new. I was looking at the darkstar armor lights but from everything I've read they are bad, I was also looking at element and zero but no one here is really backing those. I was wondering what you all would recommend for starting out after not having skate for a while something with a lot of pop and pretty light I was looking at toy machine but what else, also what kind of trucks do I want low, mid, or hi and what about brands I was thinking tensor, thunder, or destructo? I'm gonna be doing mostly street.

Thanks for the help

I like zero decks. Im not the best skater but they do me fine. From everyone here I would get a toy machine, foundation, alien workshop, habitat and all those. Even better, get a shop deck. But i do like zero, but the darkstar you mentioned is shit.

For trucks, I like destructo also, they lasted long and they are light.

Most people love thunders, spencer will say that he's had 8 pairs or more and thats how much he likes them.

Or you can hate thunders, dookie said in some of his posts that his bushings were bad, and he traded them for do dos.

I like krux trucks and alot of people here do. People like independent also but they are heavy.

Oh and ventures are alright too.

Deck, you probably have something in mind already, keep your wheels and trucks, or if you want new ones, get some Independents, people will say they are heavy, but its by like an ounce or something and it doesn't affect your skating. As for the bearings, get some Black Panthers or Luckys or Flip HKD's, they're pretty kickass. Some people will say get some Bones Reds, but recently their quality is going down.

I went and got my new set up last night, I got zero Pale horse deck, krux trucks, bones 100's wheels, and reds. The difference between it and my old set up is huge. Thanks for the advice everyone.
