I've done this alot in the past and reshaped a couple here recently.

Tools of the trade, jigsaw, hand sander, dremmel, eye protection, V8 and cell phone. (last two optional)

Before. This was a Powell 36" x 9" Rose and Thorn Model.

Draw out the new shape using a template from another board shape you like or just wing it, which is what I do. I'm going for a Stinger Tail with a Punk Point Nose.

I use this sheetmetal break as a vise to cut the nose.

I use this regular vise to cut the tail and for sanding.

Finished cutting and sanding.

The Finished Product.

And a pic of it in action.

Stay tuned for an even wilder cut.

Damn fine work...too bad I do not have the space nor the tools of the trade. If I faintly remember, you have posted this somewhere before...

Thank you for reposting. Now I can bookmark it...:D

ps: what pads are you using Colin? Pads that save elder peoples knees must be something extra protective...

i did something fairly similar to this to my old AWS deck. once it got to bad to skate and i had a new deck anyway i cut it down and turned it into a longboard carver :) its awesome

it had looked like every other deck, and i wanted a long board. so i settled and made me a shlong board

Thanks man ! The tail turned out perfect, the nose is just a little off on one side but you can barely tell. I can't tell at all when riding it.
