Play drums. The world has enough guitarists.

and the 3rd grade has enough punk rocker drummers.

lol just messin with ya. i'd go for the guitar, i went for it, and i like it. i feel like there is so much more you can do with a guitar, but whatever you want.

Hmmm, some people have a point. There IS a lot of guitarists, but drums are boring after a while, so I'd say guitar.

aha
well i play the drums

bad thing with playing the drums and learning how to play...........

u tend to tap alot on stuff no matter what and/or you get alot of beats in your head haha

but yeah pretty soon my g/f is letting me have one of her guitar's that her dad no longer uses and ill probably be learning how to play that soon.

just play guitar, if your jsut gonna be playing in your room then you have more options for playing alone, you can actually learn songs, Ive played both and guitar is far more fun

guitars like way portable, but drum's just sound so kool and more fun to play as you get to interact with them more... but then guitar sounds good when you learn kool things on it...

I'm trying to decide for my self... get a drum kit or an electric guitar...

yeah but with guitar tunings different for lots of songs... so you have to tune a lot depends on what you want to play...

mmm...

There is a lot of both, but I would say go with the guitar. There is so much more you can do, and you don't need a band to play with.

hm think of it this way
u get a g/f and she'll LOVE it when u play for her and sing to her.
or u can just play guitar since girls like guitarists alot.

People keep saying that, but it's just not true. If you really drum, and truly consider yourself a drummer, drums can be just as creative as guitars.

Go with drums. There really are enough amateur guitarists out there. Drums and bass are in pretty high demand for bands.

Can anyone say Neil Peart?

With guitar you either have to be fantastic at lead or an excellent song writer and singer because the majority of people cna learn to strum enough chords to be a rhythm guitarist. Whilst with a drummer you can be god awful and only vaguelly hold a beat but people still want you because there aren't enough. Also if you really are good at drums it makes a band come together so well and i know this from experience. At the end of every gig it isn't me or the other singer or the lead guitarist who gets the credit, it's the drummer for pulling it altogether.

Sweet, everyone has some pretty good points, but i think i'm leaning more towards guitar now...portability, noise and stuff...once i've mastered that...i think i'll like play some drums...i do prefer drum solos to guitar solo's

guitar would probably be better because you need a band with the drums to make it worthwhile whereas with a guitar you can play on your own and sing aswell.

i play both. i've been playing guitar for 2-3 years and drums for a few months. guitar is really fun but i like drums a lot too. if you plan on playing by yourself a lot then get a guitar. if you like playing with other people like a band play drums.

I'm so drunk righ tnow so don't take my opinion seriously...but i'd say guitar cause i'm a guitarist and love to take my guitar to a deserted foresty place in the summer at the side of a river and make a campfire and just...play. And sing while playing....while drinking..a lot...and gettin as drunk as i am now....don't judge is what i say in these moments so i'll say it agian...but hey, i said it already,....cpool...aya...i mean yaya...yay
so...but drums are ok...as long as you learn how to drum songs and don't do what many drummers do which is show off how well they can drum in a song...cause thats not drumming a song...sometimes it turns into one big long fill which drummers play durhing a song which sucks...good rummers have to drum songs too...be able to....so yeah

There are drum tabs, and they are actually quite simple to understand.

if your room is big enough to fit a set, then get some drums. you also build up more hand eye coordination from playing drums

I agree. I'd rather be a drummer, but guitar is just so easy.
