Killed in a motorbike accident with Ali Boulala, tragic as he was only 20.

Truly shocked, i met him in the summer and it's bizarre how he was fine then and now is dead. Makes you realise how fragile life is.

Ali is in a very bad state in hospital so my thoughts go out to him.

You don't have anything constructive to say just shut up and stay out of the thread. You obviously don't care about it so just stay out of it. You don't even know who knows who, a good chance is you don't know any one on these forums even outside of the online world.

Congratulations on being negative in almost every thread you post in. :-41:

Shane Cross was still a human being. (****, it's weird saying "was".)

When you hear that a soldier has died in Iraq, I'm sure you at least feel bad about it. When you hear that a man died in a car crash, I'm sure that you don't say a prayer or anything, but you still feel for him, and his family, or at the very LEAST, it gets you sad for a while.

Next time don't be such a negative smartass that wants to show off his superior knowledge of skaters.

Wake up
You don't have to know someone to mourn for them.
Just because someone died and you don't know about them doesn't restrict you from saying RIP - 'rest in peace' is completely irrelevant to 'who are you?'.

But Shane Cross was sooo gnarly.

It is a little ironic everyone says 'he's my favorite skater' right after he died.

F*** you. I met him, and he was super nice. Just because you don't know someone doesn't mean you can't feel bad that they died. What, if you talk to someone and you bring up a relative that died w/o knowing, and you said "sorry that happened", is the person supposed to go "shut up, you didn't know him". Death is death- it sucks no matter what, especially at 20 years old.

That is true, though. But Shane was not my favorite skater. In fact, I barely heard of him before I went to the flip demo. But I do know one thing- he was a good person and a good skater, one who did not deserve to die like this.

EDIT:

Ali Boulala is not dead but in a very bad state but is stable. It has been confirmed by a hospital official and updates are getting emailed ot a member of the N26 forum (http://forums.network26.com/viewtopic.php?t=23056).

hopefully ali will pull through. i'm wondering what he'll do if he recovers, aside from the possible manslaughter charges and whatnot. sober up maybe? i'm sure he'll suffer from some pretty bad depression, that is if he recovers to the point where hes somewhat normal again. will this turn around the man who baker skateboards is named after? like blind sheppard pretty much said, you can't blame ali for shane's death. just because shane wasn't driving or because shane hasn't appeared to be as much of a drunk as ali was doesn't mean that hes all innocent. he wasn't sober and i'm sure he wasn't too far off from ali being his friend and all. its just a horrible thing that happened and thats about it.

i feel really bad about shane cross, but i really think ali should have taken more responsibility. it was his bike and he is what, 30 years old, with shane's 20.
im hoping ali boulala does well, but i am blaming the crash on him. im not saying shane cross was innocent. but he was still a stupid kid. ali boulala is a man. he should have been smart enough to not drink, then ride a motorcycle, without any protective gear.

Freaky Styley
03-08-2007, 08:38 AM
I don't think were in any position to be playing the blame game. I'm sure the authorities will take some sort of action in the aftermath.

This tragic event as in any tragedy may come as a shock to many, but I'm sure it didn't surprise anyone. You would be hard press to find any skaters of age(some underage) that didn't have a drink drive story under their belts.

Shane was a 20 year old MAN (not a kid), with what was sure to be an outstanding career ahead of him. Ali is a favorite among many out there. It's just sad. Hopefully, many in the skate community(you) will learn something from this and apply it to the decisions they/you make in life.

it is as much shane's fault as it is ali's.

We don't have to play the blame game here.

Anyway, I don't think Boulala is ever going to fully recover. But you never know, look at John Cardiel. Different kind of accident though, anyway if he does miraculously recover he'll be overwritten with guilt or just physically unable to skate.

Floris Gierman at Blitz sent this to me. Thu, 8 Mar 2007 15:54:18

20-year-old Shane Cross was fatally injured while riding on the back of Ali Boulala's motorcycle in Australia . We have put together an online condolence book (http://www.flipskateboards.com/extra_shane_cross.php) so everyone can leave comments and thoughts for Shane’s family and friends. Messages of sympathy and kind words are appreciated.

ALI BOULALA UPDATE & COMMENTS
Due to the many unfounded rumors circling the skateboard world at the moment we are issuing this statement to hopefully end these rumors: "After the crash that tragically took the life of Shane Cross, Ali Boulala was put in a hospital induced coma to stabilize his condition. As of today the hospital is planning on bringing Ali out of the controlled coma on Monday 12th March. We will update the news on Ali when we have some."

We have created a comment section where fans and friends can leave messages to Ali and his family.
