Monster? I've heard horror stories about those...
Grind kings are good...but I'd say the best (and fairly cheap) truck for street skating...Is venture. Many people don't use them...simply cause they aren't expensive. Expensive is not always the best....I own a pair of Grind king G-6's...tensors...Independents...and of course...Ventures. Out of all those, I do best on my ventures...take those into consideration.

I agree completely, Ventures have been out for a long time and are very good trucks that just dont' get the glory of other brands.

i have some ventures right now and i like them a lot! and they were very inexpensive. my bro's GK G-6's cost almost twice as much as my ventures. but i bought my ventures at www.blankdecks.com and my bro bought his trucks at the local skateshop.

Local skateshops are more expensive normally, but I think buying from them is best...support your local boarder community, buy at a skateshop! I'd rather pay the money to a local shop (since most likely, boarders work at the shop...), than to some lady on the end of the phone 5 states away from a mailorder company.

I got a pair of these damn "Orion", before i had Indys. And my orion trucks kingpin snapped!Same with my indys. Son these ventures you speak of, are their kingpins really STRONG and for you venture users, you guys do Big tricks rather than just doing a few kickflips then go home, then of course the kingpin will live for many years? If ventures have bad kingpins, WHAT truck has a good KINGPIN?:(

mooshoo -
That's the whole point. Some people here go big, some of them do kickflips for hours on end, and venture's will stand up to it. If ANY truck's kingpin snaps, buy a new one, because the kingpin's that come with the truck always seem weak' compared to a brand new one.

with some trucks, like ventures, the kingpin can't be replaced without aquiring a new baseplate...
i think the very strongest kingpin is grind king cuz they brag about them being guaranteed unbreakable... on all my trucks i haven't had a kingpin break on me yet.

Maybe Tensors and Ventures are strong and stuff, but they have an outrageously high kingpin. Doesn't that tie you up when you grind? Grind Kings are super strong, and the king pin is well below the grinding surface.

Grind kings are also pretty good...

hey blood angel..I'm also from ohio! I actually know 2-3 people off this board from ohio..pretty tight. You know where Lakewood, Brookpark, or Cleveland (I'm sure you know where clev. is) ?? I used to live in all of those spots. I still visit once a summer, and stay for a couple of months.
Grind kings are good, but to damn pricey...when for much less, you can buy Venture's and get just as good quality. I think nowaways, when you buy the expensive trucks, you are buying the name, more than the truck.

too pricey? my grind kings were the cheapest trucks they had. they were only $33.98

I think destructo are pretty good, but GrindKings are pretty good although they are heavy.

Pricey...yes. Some places might have decent deals, but the majority of places sell grind kings at the price of Tensors, and all the other trucks like that. To many people believe that the name 'Grind King' will make them grind better. It's very hilarious, considering I've got plenty of friends that buy GK's...because the name.
Grind kings are good if you just want to buy the most expensive, and buy the name...but if you're looking for the same quality, most expensive is not the best. I've got Tensors, independents, used to have the GK-6's, Ventures..the cheapest trucks I have, the Ventures...are the best. The CCS G-5's ARE $33...but once again..at least half of that price is the name.
If your parents fork the cash over for your trucks, or you get a load of allowance, then splurging on trucks is ok. No matter what brand you get, you should be fine. Whatever you skate best on, is what you should skate with- although it seems as if most people do best on the cheaper trucks.

The best way to find the best truck for you, is to buy every version, which is obviously hard, or ask as many friends as you can, if you can try their board out. The reason many people buy Grind kings IN THE FIRST PLACE, is because the name 'grind king' makes you think 'grinding....I'll be good at it'. It's just a type of natural instinct.
iamflameboy- When you saw the fancy design on Grind kings, the high price, and the cool name, that didn't help make the descision? To nearly everyone, it does make the choice. Infact, when I bought my Grind kings, they were the second trucks I had bought, so of course, I thought 'these rock'. I then bought independents, tensors, and Venture's...and each other one has satisfied me greatly.

Independent's are fine. YOUR kingpin might have broke, or your and your friend's might have..but that doesn't represent every single independent truck made.
There's loads of boarders from ohio...I just hope you aren't the ones that I see...that are either like 'I'm a punk'...or 'I'm a prep'...or boarding to be cool....cause nearly every boarder I meet when I come and visit....is one of those.
