I think the AR stage 9's are just the same as the stage 9's but just with some color. Indy's arent really light, but they are damn good trucks.

Yeah Indy's aren't as light as say.. ventures or royalz, but whats half a pound difference? I'd definitely recommend them though, I have yet to snap an indy kingpin.

FWIW,

Not long ago, I weighed an Indy 129 Low, and a Thunder McCrank and a Venture. The Thunder and Venture were the same width as the Indy. The Indy was the lightest, by ~0.4 oz. The Thunder was the heaviest. My scale at work only goes out one decimal space, though, and admitedly, the Thunder and Venture were painted, to where the Indy wasn't (my buddy's shop didn't have any unpainted Ventures at that time). Even still, I find it hard to believe that paint on a truck adds THAT much weight.

I also weighed a single bearing with the same scale, and a single bearing was ~0.4 oz. Times that difference by two (for two trucks), and it's close to .75 of an ounce. I don't think an that is too critical, but if it is to some folks, maybe unpainted trucks is the way to go to keep overall board weight to a minimum.

Not really a true scientific experiment as the comparisons of trucks is a bit off with painted and not painted. But I just thought I'd throw that out there....

frontside slapp, as much respect as i have for you, that can't possibly be right. i've skated all of those trucks. without a scale, thunder and venture are DEFINANTLY lighter than indy. don't get me wrong, indys are dope, and i'm not the kind of kid that has the philosophy of something like "indys are so heavy dont buy them buy ventures they are light" because that is probably the dumbest thing i've ever heard. from the experience i've had with all the trucks, not biased towards any of the trucks, painted or not, thunder is the lightest, then comes venture, then indy. there is no way indys are lighter than venture/thunder. just throwing it out there.

Eck, I don't like my ventures, oh well, got them for free. I just traded a kid my old Carrol 4s for pretty fresh Koston Indys and some Nike SBs. I know the AR indys aren't really any lighter than any other trucks, they just skate awesome. I'd get them.

Dookie,

Mucho respect for you, too, homey. Like I said, the Indy was unpainted, and the Venture and Thunder were painted. My bro at the shop said that Indy Lows "should" theoretically be lighter than a standard Indy of the same size. My bro's shop is getting a new batch of goods soon, and I'll give it another spin with the Thunders and Ventures and Indys, all unpainted. I don't mean to come off as I'm trying to convert everyone to Indys, but after reading here that alot of people like them, aside from them being a bit "heavy," I wanted to turn over some stones for my own curiousity. Obviously, my "experiment" isn't fool-proof, but more for fun and the sake of kicks and giggles.

DOOKIE!!! Welcome back! Where did you go......hahaha.

*on topic*
No, Indys are not really heavy. They are the most well built, solid and turney/carvey trucks ever. Other trucks are lighter is maybe beause they have less dense aluminum. Hence, might be weaker. Aluminum alike other alloys or metal have diffrent composition and metal to agregate(or something like that) ratio). Producing diffrent kinds of characteristics.

No offense, no thought of you starting s#%t or anything of the sort taken, my fellow skater!

I value your input and opinions highly, as well as your willingness to disagree. All in good fun, and for "kicks and giggles!" In all honesty, I know you've "field tested" more current skateboard items than I ever will, and that is worth a great deal alone! I could easily skate the same board and trucks for the rest of my life, though sooner or later, I'll need new grip tape and maybe some new truck bushings :-3:

Take care, bro

I wont pretend to know what the AR stands for, but weighing the Trucks right now in the shop I work at (yeah, WORK at) the McCrank Thunders are HIGH Trucks, and Independent dont make high Trucks. weighing them again, ventures are 5grams lighter than Thunder Lows, and Indy's are 5 grams heavier. so **** the weight; Indy turn nicer, venture flip nicer, and Thunder do everything the best. Thunders are the design of a venture with the Power of an Independent. the best all round. now can someone tell me what the **** an AR Truck is, I googled it n nothin came up....

yeah, i mean, i really could care less about truck weight, unless of course we're dealing with something like 5 pounds difference, but yeah, whatever.

i dunno. i disagree with what you said about which trucks are better for skating. it just depends on what you like i guess. i've always like venture. but i'll skate any of those (indy, thunder, venture).

AR stands for Andrew Reynolds. he's got his own pro model on indy now. not lows, but 129/139s.

Thunder do everything the best

I thought i would agree with you when i bought them from what everyone said bout them.

I snapped both kingpins in less than 2 weeks. Both baseplates then went. Fianlly bent the hangers. Same happened to my mate.

Was not impressed.

Independent and Ventures are good. The weight shouldn't affect you much if at all.
