i've been flipping through magazines and i've seen things for these differently constructed boards. i've heard of resin-7, resin-8, featherlights, armorlights, uberlights, heliums, fiberlights, slicks, and even bamboo boards. i have an idea/know what most of these are but can somebody just clear it up for me? can you also list the pros and cons of each type and YOUR recomendation? thanks.

well the only one i have skated is the element helium
i have one right now.they really are really light and the pop is good...while it lasts
but the only thing i had wrong with it it that the first chip you get in it and the board falls completely apart.
but it was an overall good deck

ps.the only reason i was forced to buy it was that it was all they had left
and my mom said that i had to choose one

The resin 7's look quite strong, although I have not had a chance to try one.

Resin-7:Lighter and stronger than the standard 7-ply

Resin-8:Stronger and same weight as standard 7-ply.Significantly stronger

Uber:The internal carbon fiber foam deck is ultra light and nearly stiff as metal. it acts like re bar, or a skeleton embodied by a standard 7-ply layup.

Featherlight:designed and engineered with lightweight materials, featherlight products perform above and beyond what is currently on the market without sacrificing quality or strength.

Fiberlight:fiberlight is a skateboard construction designed to withstand intense abuse, yet react and perform beyond what is currently on the market. fiberlight provides an unparalleled response to the ollie

Helium:helium skateboard construction features patented air-frameŽ chambers built inside the deck that add strength while drastically decreasing weight. each of five air-frameŽ chambers within the boards is hollowed, meaning less wood is used, resulting in the lightest skateboard deck element skateboards has ever released.

Armorlight:Extra strength, exclusive carbon composite center.Decreased weight, ultra light maple veneers.Superior stiffness, super bonding resin glue.

Bamboo:This construction is more ecologically sound then a traditional 100% Maple skateboard. Bamboo makes up 15% of the deck using less Maple wood and utilizing the incredible growth rate of farm raised Bamboo. Bamboo Ply construction utilizes the natural characteristics of both woods. Bamboo is light and resilient while Maple has a proven record for strength

Slick:Slicks are just boards with special paint to make slides easier.

i currently have an almost resin 7. the pop is good , the shape is perfect, and its strong as hell. i think the board feel is a little different though.

I love helium boards...but they really need to stay together a bit longer.
