To give you an idea of the depth of the Teardrop, that's Joey standing way down there.

Holy shit that place is massive, it must have been kinda scary skating it. A park for more advanced skaters by the looks of it.

It's all so gnarly. I wouldn't have the balls to skate most of that, especially that tear drop.

I've been looking forward to these pics from your vacation, skaterat! Thanks a million for posting them up (all of them). I don't blame you and your son for sticking to Granite that whole week. Ripon's park is killer, but a lot different than Granite, which is like Disneyland for skateboarders. Jeez, there's something for pretty much anybody, regardless of what they like to skate.

From the times I've been to Granite, it's the bowls in the first to shots that I skate mostly. I can't do a whole lot other than knee slide, but those are the ones I enjoy riding the most. Which ones did you and your son like best out of everything there?

Well, the 3/4 pipe is about 18' in diameter. There's a past vert clamshell that is at least 12" and that tear drop pool Joey is standing in is probably 13' or 14'. He's 6' 1", you get the idea. That pool is really fun though, not even hard to ride 'cause the transitions are big and perfect.

Ya, I live in Culver City, (Los Angeles, borderline Venice) but that park is in Snakers neck of the woods up in Sacramento.

Everything at Granite is so big, but it's fast as hell, too. Don't make the mistake I made: wear pads when skating this park. I went down three times early on the day I met up with Colin, and I was pretty much out for the rest of the day.
