We finished the week off at Chino. Dale, Doug, JDS, Adam, Tightner and his buds were all there. An awesome way to finish off our vacation.

Those are called rails, originally made for board sliding on pool coping. Sorry, has nothing to do with saving graphics. If you don't want to scratch your graphics, hang it on the wall and get a blank.

Like skaterat noted, they're rails. Used not only for boardslides on gnarly coping and curbs, but also for extra grip on moves like airs, inverts, and the like. Not very common these days, but some people still make them: Powell and Black Label come to mind, though there probably are a handful of others, too.

Great pics, Colin!

They're old school. I've you've been skating a long time you'll definately remember them along with tail guards and nose guards.

What we call a board slide today use to be called a rail slide. Pretty much because everyone used the rails. They're pretty dangerous for street skaters because they can get caught on stuff. If you chill in the parks they you can definately still enjoy them.
