has anyone ever met a pro skater? i was standing in line at vans skatepark in milpitas ca waiting to pay to get in and was standing rite next to steve caballero. my dad walked up and said "hey look its steve caballero." then he was swarmed with kids begging for his autograph. later when i found steve i said whats up shook his hand and told him that my dad was sorry about him getting swamped with youngsters begging for stuff. he said that it was cool he is use to that kind of thing during the weekends when all the 13 year old kids are there skateing around. then we talked about the winchester skatepark which is where steve use to skate when he was turning pro at 14, my dad first met him at a skatepark and now i did so i thought that was pretty cool.
i also saw the santa cruz skate team over around stanford university. theres alot of pro action happinin in cali just you have to be there at the rite time to see it.

but the thing is i am not into idilizing pros, if i saw tony hawk i probably wouldnt know. i am just into skateing for the skateing. when i was reading the posts about darkslides someone was saying that there wouldnt be as many skaters if it werent for rodney mullen and i think that if you are into skateing just because a pro can do things you would only dream of, then you are just a commercial consumer. not a skater.

There would be no skateboarding if no one skated, not because of talented individuals doing what they love to do..
Cool you met a pro man, I wouldnt have the guts to talk to him LOL

AMEN!
Thats whats so awesome about skating. You can do it for yourself and by yourself. You don't have to do it like anybody else does. You can make up your own stuff, or do anything. Thats why its the best.
BTW: I've never met any pros, not too many pros come to nebraska. Steve berre grew up in omaha, ne, wich is 1 hour from me, and i've heard that there is a video of him skating back in the early 90s at spots by my friend joel's house.
