Just name tricks that you think are out of style/shouldn't be done. For me I think:
Sex Changes
willy grinds(well actually they are pretty sick)
Body varial tricks

I don't think any tricks are out of style, it just depends on who does them. My brother has some gay as hell Boneless's, but this kid on my block who skates old school does 'em sick, but if I had to choose.
Caveman, if that even counts for a trick, if it doesn't then I guess those lame ass Power Ollies. When you stick your tail into the edge of a bench or something, and bounce up and down and jump off, gayness.

The only thing I could remotely agree on is sexchanges. Those are for little kids.
Tricks don't go out of style.

I was just wondering what anyone thought because in some pro interviews I've read they'll ask out what tricks they think are out of style.

What do people have against sex changes? They're pretty sweet tricks, they look way better than kickflips when done on flat land.

just cuz it adds an extra something doesn't mean it's cooler, if you're going to do something like that, learn f/s and b/s flips.

Well that still doesnt mean that they are any worse than kickflips though. Besides, they are touph as hell when doing off ledges and sets, and look sweet when landed clean.

100% Agreed.

Both very good points in the argument.

No tricks are out of style IMO, I still do pop-shuvit body varials(Irish Shuffle), and varial flip body varials(Twisted flips), and sex change flips. Casper flips look sick as hell, I really think that if you can put down the trick and make it look good, then it's gonna be sick. Skating is for some part about style, making things look good, putting down sick stuff, etc. But, at the same time, it's about having fun, so even if you're doing some lame trick and you're enjoying it, then who cares?

to be fair though if you do a pop shuvit body varial off a set and land it clean then you can't really say it looks "out of style" can you??? and by casper flip do you mean the little kid version where you put your board on the floor upside dwn and do the flippy thingy or the proper version where its like a half flip pop shuv thing??? and ryan shacklers switch heel sex change off the ledge...you cant say thas was out of style either can you??? as was said before it just depends on who does it and how they land it

Im probably one of the very few people that didn't lose them doing 360 flips, my friend andrew hates them, he's always like, if you're going to bother learning them, just do a damn 3 flip.

I hate it when people do 180's then pivot right after so they dont fall. i dont think that ever was "in style" but w/e.

doing tricks standing still and never while moving pisses me off, especially when thats the only way you do your tricks, my friend does that

i dunno if you can really say a trick is out of "style", but i do have a few guys whose style is utter crap in my opinion, so most of their tricks look terrible. mike vallely would be one and ali boulala is another. i cant stand watching them
danmorris778
04-30-2007, 10:45 PM
how can you say ali boulala has no style.....he stuck a 26 set :|
he has a style that is sketchy but that is whats made him well known.
whats up with you???
and mike V i dont really like him so i cant say anything there.

exactly. i had sketchy skating. i dunno, i just dont like watching ali or mike v. i'd rather watch pj ladd, mike carroll, josh kalis, or brian wenning. to me, thats style. ali just looks awkward skating around. probably cause hes drunk, i dunno

I also hate watching ali. Just because he ollied a 25 stair dosent mean he has good style. You can do the best trick ever done and have the WORST style ever. Dont get me wrong, he has good tricks. I just dont like the way he does them.

Boneless's when done by little kids who have no idea what they're supposed to do can get a lil' annoying .

Its rad to see people skating no matter what they are doing.
Blunt -> fakies with the little nosegrab thing (as opposed to an ollie) are a little pet peeve of mine but they are still fun like that so I cant blame people for doing them.
Oh yeah an Nyjah Houstons game of skate vs. Chris Cole was pretty lame too. Fakie varial flip body varial...seriously, why
EDIT: sorry I didnt reallize how old this thread was when I posted :(
