Alright, ive seen alot of posts here asking "whats a j-hop?" and "How do you Bunnyhop higher?" Well i figured i could help by posting the baisics of bunnyhopping. In this thread i will tell you what a bunnyhop is, and explain step by step how to bunnyhop correctly
How To Bunnyhop
1.
The first thing we learn is the Front Pull.

Begin by crouching a bit, flexing your arms and legs.
2.

you need to then lean back, letting your arms go straight and moving your center of gravity behind the seat a bit, while keeping her knees bent.
3.

you need to back harder, and straighten your legs. you should not be "pulling" the bike up with your arms. you should be using your back and the momentum you get from moving your center of gravity back.
(what im trying to say is snap your butt back.)
4.

as you keep pulling back, you will naturally "straighten up" a bit. That is because your hands and feet are moving horizontally closer together as the bike stands up. as you notice in the pic, Her arms and legs are now straight.
5.

you should now gotten about all the "hop" you are going to get from leaning, so now you need to use your arms to bring the bike up the rest of the way.

The bike's standing up now and you should be standing up with it. This is a full Front Pull. Did you notice that you never "pedaled the bike up"? your pedals have stayed level through the whole manuever, even as the bike rose. Many younger hoppers try to "wheelie" the bike up with their pedals. Don't do it. It doesn't work. When you begin cross-country mountain biking, you'll use that technique - but not now..

Now you need to use your legs to bring the rear wheel up. HOORAY! your off the ground!
8.

Continue to bring the rear wheel up.

Yuppers. as you bring the back wheel up you will natrually crouch. See?
10.

see? shes crouching. it also helps to turn the pedals to a 45 degree angle to get more out of lifting your back tire up.
11.

Now your landing! good job! you just completed a bunny hop/ j-hop/any other hop you wanna call it. Your supposed to land on your back tire or level. landing on the front tire will destroy your rim.
CONGRADULATIONS!
You landed your first bunnyhop...... in your head.
now go outside and try it.
ill be adding a Q&A Section soon
