THPS more realistic

im sure that if you've ever played THPS you know how big some combos can get! i was playing it like 3 hours ago and did a combo of 28 tricks! if you get sick of this and want to try something to make it look more real then do this...

take an elastic band and put it around the controler holing down the ollie button, go to a halfpipe and use it for a while then watch the replay. you'll see how much more realistic it looks! i havent seen a kickflip+360flip+540 benihanna at the X games yet.

The thing in THPS that really pisses me off is that when you're in the air in the pipe, the you grab, and you can kickflip WHILE IN THE AIR.....I mean....should't the board be kicked on the floor???

its so unrealistic. you get waaaaay too much air off of a halfpipe. even if you dont ollie, you can still easily do 540 kickflip to indy's. if you do, though, you can do 1080 triple kickflip+kickflip+impossible.

i was talking to a kid at school about the skatepark i went to. i told him about how i was skating in the 3 ft halfpipe. he says "so, how much air you get off of it? like this?" he holds his hand out sideways to show the hieght of the ramp, then takes his hand (a person), and brings it up like 3 feet above his hand. in real life, that would be like getting 20-30 feet of air off a 3 foot ramp! he thought that probably because of too much thps.

another thing about the game: ollies. it is easy to ollie over someones head. if you watch a replay of an ollie, it is at least 6 feet in the air. earlier today i ollied UP 6 stairs, EASY, with room to spare.

so, not only is thps unrealistic, but its misleading. don't get me wrong, i do like the games, but still, they could make it a lot more realistic and it still be fun. (that sentence didnt make much sense, but i meant that even if the game was more real, it would still be fun)

after you beat thps2 on computer you get some cheats and one of them makes it more realistic.with it on its almost impossible to do a 720 with full special. I think its called Simulation mode

What sucks is that on Tony Hawk One you can't manual or bluntslide, tailslide, noseslide or any of that cool stuff. Plus it's really fake looking but it's still fun.

Think about it- if the game were totally realalistic, you'd only be as good as you really are. You could only kickflip and heelflip, or whatever. I don't mind the game at all. In fact, I'm anxiously awaiting the release of THPS 3 for the computer on March 26!

Yep...the coolest thing about THPS 3...is the nose manuals. It was also in THPS 2...THPS 2 was really good...I loved the courses. The coolest thing, which I do a lot...is like kickflip tailslides (realistic stuff). I stopped trying to beat it..and just say 'I'm gonna bluntslide that rail'...etc.

I don't care if it's four years old so I'll comment anyway. The reason why it is so fake is because they are selling the game to preteens who usually have less total time on a skateboard than in front of a PS2. If this game were marketed towards skaters, it would be much different.

If it is four years old, its still a great game and i'd have fun playing it anytime. It's way more realistic than the THUG'S
