Bitter older guys and abuse

So I'm the youngest in my crew basically... I'm 15 and the next youngest guy is 18. Most of the guys are 20-23 and theres about 6 of us total. Anyway they've really accepted me into their crew but the amount of shit they give me, and all the torture and the hitting is almost really getting to me. I guess it's similar to City Stars, the younger guys used to talk about how Mikey Taylor would beast on them.. anyway, I'm just about as good as all of them... all around atleast, so a lot of them are kind of bitter towards me and hostile because we're at similar levels and I'm so much younger. I'm not really mad or anything because If I was in their position I'd be jealous and pissed too... but sometimes if I'm trying a hard ledge trick or something down stairs, every time I f*ck up, I get hit, supposedly that's my 'motivation' but all it really does is break my concentration. As well as that one guy plays a game called 'Rampage' where he hits you as hard as possible, as much as he can, in a minute... That's not really what gets to me though, what gets to me is all the stupid immature 'oh you suck dick', 'you deep throat hella good' stupid ass shit like that, it's stuff like that, that kind of hurts my feelings and burns its way into my subconscious which inevitably f*cks my skating.

I'm at the end of my tether and I don't really know what to do... I could bring it up with them but they're probably just make fun of me for being sensitive but I sort of feel like they're just trying to break me down. Any advice would be appreciated.

dude, it's the same exact thing here. most of my crew is 3 years older then me, well, the ones that are 3 years older than me (i'm 14) always do shit like that, like if i see one of them i'll be like yo whats up and go for a hand shake and they will just like smack me instead, and they just say stuff to me that really just pisses me off.. like congradulations, you made a 14 year old feel bad, how does that make you feel? great? then you are a complete loser. and i feel the same way, the other day i asked my friend like why were you being an asshole to me today, and he's like ok are you crying.. and then i'm just done, so i try now to just skate with the people that are cool to me, usually friends that don't skate.

My crew is real tight. It's one 8th grader one 9th grader Me the 10th grader an 11th grader and 2 seniors so that shit never really happens. just tell them to shut the **** up. Or do that shit back and hate on them.

It's not that easy, skating with them is a lot of fun and I progress faster when I'm around people who are around my level. What really attaches me to the one who Rampages on me.. is he actually always has my back if anything comes up. Recently some really shadow activity came up and this drug dealer was threatening me saying he as going to kidnap me and do all this ****ed up shit me to, and anyway he (the rampager as i'm calling him right now) completely told him off and said if he ever touched me or even looked at me he'd knock his teeth out and break his knee caps. So I know they're their for me but I'm just not accustomed to the shit... =\

I think there's a good amount of truth to your statement. The crew might back it down a notch, a bit, or entirely. Then again, maybe not. It's your call if you want to continue to skate with people who, for the most part, seem to bum you out with the way they treat you.

Thats a lot like me too, although they don't hit me or anything I'm not so sure they would back me up 100% if anything happened, plus I don't skate with them ALL the time there are a couple guys I usually skate with more but if they're at the park it can be a good sesh. A, they are trying to make you a tougher person. If half of this stuff didn't happen to you, you may of been a total wuss before ever even MEETING them.

B, it may sound gay, but they may love you, and picking on you is just their way of showing, "hey this kid is cool".. and they may be trying to show you what their place is in the group because of their age.. but all they are doing to you is being a big brother to you.

My brother does the same exact stuff too me, and I overheard him one night drunk talking to my mom/other brother saying he thinks I hate him because of the stuff he does to me, but he said to them he is just doing it because he loves me.

And that rampage guy is just showing ya he likes you, as a friend that is.. and he has your back, what he does is just showing you he likes you, don't leave the crew, don't even tell them to stop, just try doing it back to them, joke around.. don't worry, they DEFINATELY DO NOT hate you.

In all groups, whether it be a Pride of lions or a skate crew, there are certain positions that each member has. You were probably just the little bitch of the group, which sucks and isn't right at all, in my opinion. If anything, you being younger should inspire them to mentor to you, but I guess that's just one man's opinion. This is a little meat headish of me, but sometimes you just have to be a man and fight back. Nothing will break you out of that little bitch mold than socking one of those ****s in the face.

I think you did the right thing leaving the crew. There's going to be other skaters that help you push yourself so you don't need to be around these 5 or people if all they do is degrade you like that.

if there's anything i can suggest, it is to push yourself to be better much than them. if you can win their respect and not their sympathy, you should be good. if you want to leave, make sure you still interact with them so you can develop that father-watching-his-only-son-who-made-it type relationship.

What they are doing to you are just showing you they care about you, it's their way of showing it to you, and they have your back completely as you have already seen.
