Alright, I've been out of skateboarding for a while. Just because. And now that I'm throwing myself back into it, I've noticed my legs have weakened, from the fact that I have been so extremely lazy. So, I would like to know, since I have just basic lifting weights, how I would strengthen my legs. I don't exactly want to buy any new equipment. But I would if it's comepletely necessary.

i think you could try and like u get on your legs crouched down like a catcher in baseball and u go up and touch something and go back down into the same position and u keep doing that for awhile
idk if that will really work
usually i just lift weights

Another poster and I just had this discussion not-too-long ago over PM. If you want to strengthen your legs for skateboarding, then squats, lunges, rim jumps, and something my basketball coach called "holding up the wall" would all be beneficial.
Little known fact, but if you want to increase your overall body mass, start doing squats. Want to increase total body strength? Start squatting!

Alright, now, please tell me if this is correct, When you do a squat, you start flat footed, bending your knees, then raise yourself to your toes, while extending your legs. All while keeping your arms beside you. Correct?

Riding a bike will build up your legs. Or just skate more.
What are squats?

I considered this..but I'm the worst bike rider on EARTH Lol.
If you say, "Hello Steven." While I'm riding a bike, I'll fall over.

You don't have to raise yourself onto your toes, no.
Start with light weight, like maybe a backpack filled with some books, and do a few sets of 10 repetitions or something like that. If you can do more reps, then go for it. If you can't do that many, then don't.

I'd try jumping onto stairs and off over and over again and try and land and jump off of your toes. That helps.

haha, that was me. i would suggest something he told me called tabatas. if you use light weights you'll probably increase your power. you should be a good swimmer though because i almost drowned in a pool of my own sweat. just pm goat meal for a routine. i like to think of him as ramprage's own resident russel simmons... jk.

I'm doing year 12 PDHPE, n I been doing some stuff for strengthening legs too (for higher ollies lol) theres this thing called err isometric contractions. "sit" against the wall, n use ur leg muscles to push urself into the wall (ur the bones above/below ur knee should be at right angles) this creates tension, n stregth (try 6 seconds pushing hard, n 8 sets)
also theres err plyometrics. stand on a 1m tall box, and drop off it to the ground (just drop, dont jump) as u hit the ground, spring back up onto the box. over time, reduce the amount of time on the ground
stand still, and jump up. lift ur knees right up as far as u can, then go back to the ground. do this hard n fast.
these are what I do.. they're workin :-P

Yeah, squats are the way to go. Even if you arent squating with weights they are still effective.
