Smooth and effortless look.
And a good fast style is always fun to watch too.

Ex. Koston, Janoski, Valelly, and Trujillo

Yeah, it seems like it doesn't matter to them that they landed some sick shit. They just look so cool about it all.

I like his style, maybe not so much all the no complys and all of those hand flips etc. But he goes really fast and catches major air and the stalling gaps are pretty insane.

I like skaters who tweak there tricks, get height and bend their knees. I think it looks great when a skater lands on the bolts and just bends, making it look effortless and flowy.
I can't stand watching people who look like they could fall off at anytime.

Rune Glifberg.. Now that's a nice tweakish style.

I like Original Styles that dont seem to follow the same pattern as everyone else. Navarette, Trujillo, and that Jake Rupp; he's so original it could make u shit.... he's got a wierd but cool style, ya know

stefan janoski's style. also, whoever takes the last part in a video i think their style looks best. like, they pull through just a little more than the whole team, like the team will take a trip to a spot, and a few people will get a trick, then he will get like a noticeably better trick to fit into the last part. i like that. which is basically like mark appleyard in the flip video, or stefan janoski in subtleties, or like chris cole in the zero video.

Make it look easy, stay loose, and don't skate slow.

On the money, IMO. Chris Miller, Caballero, Hosoi, Mike Smith, Alan Losi (all "vert" skaters).

HOWEVER, I like burly/on edge style, too: Duane Peters, Jason Jessee, etc.

Tony Trujillo has a nice style. Flowing around the park, airing out, and getting tricks.

If you talking about pro styles..I like Chris Haslam..
But I prefer old school tricks myself..Pressure flips..Street Plants. Ecetera.

If you talking about pro styles..I like Chris Haslam..

He has terrible style from what I've seen. Have you seen Almost Round 3? His grind to flip tricks are terrible. He basically kicks the board down and barley lands it. It's so sketchy.

IMO, I love Daewon Song's style. I loved his Tre-bombs from truck to truck in Almost Round 3.

Hah yeah thats what my bro's videos were. That and vert. They were all I watched before I knew where to get vids from back in the 90s. It was hard to get skate stuff here during the early to mid 90s

Louie barletta, Sierra fellers, Chris pastras, Justin strubing, and Shuriken shannon. In my opinion they have some pretty good style , I know there are more but the list could go on.

Appleyard, Wenning, Gallant, Ladd, Janoski, Mclouth, Howard, Carroll, O'Connor, and Sheppard all have amazing styles but the list could go on and on.

i think style is sooo overrated. it pretty contradicts skateboarding and how everyone says just go skateboarding and do what you what dont care what people think. but then everyone obsesses about looking good.

i mean i rather see a clean steezy ollie down a gap then a sloppy kickflip down a 8 stair anyday.

DCsKaTeR
07-05-2007, 06:12 PM
Well it can be about just you, and you want to look good and impress yourself with what you can do.

Style is supposed to be natural. I hate when you see people trying to put out that "fake steez" with all the unnesecary(sp?) knee tucks and shit.

that screams terry kennedy.

man, i cannot STAND his style.

and haslam has a semi-sloppy style because he is doing incredible tech tricks.

and he only has a sloppy style WHILE doing those tech tricks.

everything else is buttery-smooth.
