any one see this gimmick from element i would never do it just cause i dont want element shoes or element decks but its kinda cool

this is what it says if u cant read it

Learning to skate, and getting better at skateboarding, for most of us, can be a long and arduous process. The labor of love from which the skill is acquired comes at no small price. The amount of pleasure derived from landing a single trick though, can carry you through endless amounts of sessions. That single reward is great! Element would like to make it greater. Simply Do what you are already Doing, Keep Skating. If you Strike Gold, you'll win Element Decks for an Entire Year! Skate through the shoes, if the toe reveals gold, you win a years supply of Element Boards. If it reveals the "This is my Element" sticker pattern your prize is the skills you've acquired in the process. Only 200 Shoes in circulation between the United States and Canada.

its not a gimmick, its a selling point.

a gimmick from element is fiberlights, or helium, or whatever. it says its better, but its really just a way to get you to buy it. whereas.. this is a way to get you to buy it, but its not a gimmick because its not telling you its better, or something like that.

advertisement wouldnt be correct either, but thats not the point.

its a selling point, and yeah, its pretty dumb, but then again.. think about all selling points. why do you buy what you buy?

youd be surprised at all the things you dont realize.

Reminds me of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory.
"MOM MOM I found the golden toe cap!!"

Haha i'm mega unlucky so i wouldn't bother with that. If someone offered me free Element decks for a year i'd say yes, no matter how shitty they are.

Actually, per dictionary.com, a gimmick can be anything that attracts attention or increases appeal. So yeah, this is definitely a gimmick.

Thats an awesome idea actually. If eS did it on a larger scale, it would be so rad. Like get a gold toe cap and get another free pair of shoes.

haha, I can see some rich poseurs buying hundreds of these shoes, and just rubbing them on their grip to see if they got lucky enough to win.

Some kid who doesnt even skate or cant do kickflips is gonna buy them shoes, and it will never wear away and nobody will in that would be great.
