ok so today was great.
i came back from a couple months break from a leg injury blah blah blah.
i did my first full day of skating today. i've been doing like a couple of hours at night just getting my tricks back for past week or so.
But today i got everything back and even got some new tricks. but i built a ghetto kicker kinda thing with this kid in my neighborhood and i kickflipped off of it and noticed my truck was kinda wobbly riding off. i just kinda disregarded it and kept going. well i went for another flatground heelflip or something and landed and then i heard a snap. I turned my board over and saw that my kingpin had snapped on my ventures.
Well now i have no clue what to do. i have a pair of old ruckus trucks that i could maybe take the kingpin out? they're like 2 years old or so and they aren't much good. and my ventures are about a year old. So my whole question after that long stupid story is should i replace my kingpin or get new trucks. I have the money for new trucks but i was just wondering. And if i should fix the kingpin how do i do it?
thanks!

WTF who in their right mind buys new trucks for a broken kingpin, thats probably the most retarded shit I have ever heard? Just go to the local shop and get them to replace it, kingpins usually cost around 5 bucks, they should do it fairly quickly and get you on your way, trust me dude they can be quite a bitch if you don't have the right tools, especially when you gotta do the ol' penny trick. Or bring your rukus kingpin and replace it there, that way if you have anyproblems they can help you out.

If the Venture's are worn down hardcore, then you might want to invest in a new set, but not just because of kingpin death. Ok, here's how to get a kingpin out, or atleast a good method. Find something that can support the baseplate, with a crack in the middle so that you have a space to tap out the kingpin. For example, I opened a vice a little bit so it supported both sides of the baseplate, and allowed me to tap it out. Ok, you're gonna get a hammer and a screwdriver, or anything like those two things, and you're gonna tap*Pound sometimes* the broken kingpin out of the baseplate. It can be easy sometimes, but 9/10 you really gotta hit that shit hard. Next, go get a new kingpin, tap it from the back of the baseplate, and make sure it is secure. Reassemble your trucks, tighten 'em up and skate. Good luck, and make good choices.

I know honestly, I have probably stripped about 5 of them just getting them out to the point where it was almost impossible to put a bolt on it.

are you kidding me?
i would rather spend an hour trying to do something rather than waste 45 dollars and an hour long car ride.

Hahah, I feel you, last kingpin I broke, like, I couldn't get the pivot cups off the top part, like, the bottom was broken wierd so I finally had to file it down to get that shit off haha. Then it took me like, so long to get that ****ing kingpin out of the baseplate, I almost went crazy haha.

well put. I wouldn't bother with new trucks in your scenario, unless your Ventures are worn down to the point that a new kingpin sticks up like the Empire State Building above the hangar. If you're sketchy on replacing it and/or don't have appropriate tools, hit up your skate shop and have it done there.

well the kingpin was really hard to get out but i managed to do it.
but i was skating my ruckus's last night and they are terrible. the kingpins are like stripped to the point that i have to tighten them up every 20-30 minutes of skating them just so they won't fall out.
but i'm going down tommorow to probably just buy a pair of indy's or krux or thunder's. i didn't really care much for my ventures.
