So i live in an apartment complex with a wide open lot. ample for skating.
Actually forget that i'll jump to the question, i have a 30 foot raised curb, 5inches high. but i still can't grind/slide it. I have a local skate shop with too many wax choices. What is the best for my situation. Or should i go else where for what i need?

I wouldn't bother with any fancy shop wax. Just go to a local grocery store and get golf wax/parafin wax. Shits cheap and amazing. Normal candles work fine too. Just wear it in with your trucks when your applying and it should end up being perfect.
