uh.. Probably a stupid question but..... is a skate board with hard wheels meant to take on cracks in sidewalks and everywhere else?

the bigger your wheels are, the less chance you have of getting stuck on a sidewalk crack. if you have small wheels like me, its easier to ollie them rather than roll over them cracks suck

what he said the smaller the wheels the easier the tricks but they dont cope with cracks as well the bigger the wheels the harder to do tricks the easier to rolover cracks

It doesn't make much of a difference with tricks. Bigger wheels will keep their momentum better and roll over cracks more easily, small wheels accelerate faster but lose momentum. Soft wheels (less than 97a) roll over cracks better than hard wheels, but they aren't good for skate parks. Hard wheels (97-100a) are good for all around skating. 54mm 99a is what I skate, pretty large but still good for low trucks.

Ollie the cracks, or Manual them. supposedly, Softer wheels are better, but they must be heeaps soft. For Street Skating though, Hard wheels are the better choice. Those cracks arent much of a bitch.

Check this page out for skateparks in your area. By no means is the list complete, but there are the Sac parks listed. Beware that Granite park in Sac apparently requires full gear: helmet, knee and elbow pads.

Here's another url worth looking at:

I'd be surprised if you couldn't find a skate shop in Sacramento to set you up with a helmet. If you can't find one, caliskatz sells safety gear online.
