I think ramprage (steve) should sponser some of its skaters (me) for a plane ticket and a week or two at woodward. Sounds like an idea to me!!
Snaker
12-29-2002, 04:59 AM
lol, but steve is getting no money from this site at all, and i don't think he could afford to send us to woodward, no offence, Steve. it's well over $1000 for camp enrollment and plane tix.

Ok... I know you skate and everything at Woodward, but do you like attend a class? Do you get help with tricks?
Snaker
12-29-2002, 04:40 PM
yea. three practice sessions a day anywhere on the camp, which is huge and one of the best in the world. then there are classes, too.
Flip Boy
12-29-2002, 04:44 PM
lol... to be honest that sounds gay. I wanna get up skate and do exactly what i want without getting hasled by gay camp leaders cos i didnt land my kickflip blunt to fakie on the ramp perfect.. and cant do it 10/10 times
Snaker
12-29-2002, 04:51 PM
you don't. it's not that kinda class, and besides, there's too many skaters for them to be able to do that.
Flip Boy
12-29-2002, 06:37 PM
Yeh, but you have a scedule... cmon guys your paying to do what they want you to do, to feed you for 1 week and bed you + insurance for damages that wont happen is like $300 and you have to pay an extra $700 to do what they ant you to do.. its bullshit, plus what the hell is a class clinic?
P.S. If someone payed for me i would go lol
punkrock016
12-29-2002, 07:22 PM
i dont think you guys understand, woodward is the worlds largest skatepark, they have like 6 huge warehouses, 3 huge outdoor courses, bowl's dirt jumps (for bikes). they dont make you do anything, you dont have to skate if you dont want to...pretty much 3 times per day you get to skate whereever you want and there's 'teachers' there to help you work on your tricks, not drill you if you cant do something, i would go if i wasnt too old (if they still have that rule) and i had the cash.

i talked to my mom about it, she thinks it sounds good. I told her i'd get a job to pay it soooo she sounds good with the idea :-D but idk if i'm gonna go.

Why are they cheap?Because they won't spend 1200 dollars for you to go to a camp? Don't they go through enough hell with you skating?Breaking boards left and right if you do break boards. Decks cost around 50 bucks. Plus they have to buy food for you and put a roof over your head and they have to put clothes on your back. They need to let you spend time with your friends. I don't think many parents are cheap. Raising a child and/or children. I think that's pretty low to call your parents cheap.

^ i agree u cant just expect for your parents to buy everythin for u... u have to make sacrafices, and u'll thank them later. like what if u depend all on your parents and they die, what will u do now? or if you depend on ur parents and the go broke. what now? or when u have to move out. what now? nothing in life comes easy

i see that, too. that's one of the reasons i decided to give up most of my summer to work for my own entrance to Woodward. My parents are ok with it i think, but they don't think i can save that much money without spending it. :D

12-30-2002, 10:14 PM
yea i have a problem with saving money... if i was my own parents (?!) i wouldnt trust me with money...

Ah! Yeah I have problems saving money if I had 1 milliong bucks it's for sure I would spend it in less that 3 days in what? I don't know... and if I ever go to wood ward it is certain that my dad didn't pay for it.

Hey if i lived california I would certainly take that test I hunger for money and my dad wont give me crap :) so I've had to sacrifice a good pay check ( I should be earning $10.90/hour ) since I work underage at the skate store I only earn $5.95/hour, thats cause my friend/neighbore is the manager of the store so shhs don't tell.:) so yeah basically I have to wait either for some to find out I'm underage or like 10 months to finally worl in a legal way. so yeah.

You have to be 14 in TN for a workers permit.
Ashley, it'll almost be like you could think of me everyday if you work at Baskin-Robins, because my last name is Baskin! lol.

www.honduras.com it is an awesome country and I love it. It's great so yeah. Its in Central America and skateboarding barely started over there and it has great skating spots. Yay thats why I have a spanish accent I lived there 12 years :D.
~edit~ also Honduras is a third world country which means its as poor as hell. Also they speak spanish 24/7 and stuff.

To me, it's a waste of money. So I wouldn't go there even if I had the money. I have more important things to spend my money on.

Well, I'd rather be there than at home doing nothing. Plus, I hate Chattanooga downtown for the street skating, and being at WoodWard with my friends for a week would be fun.

I won't be at home. I'll be in NY and Boston alot all summer. They have some of the best street spots on the east coast. I just wouldn't pay that much money to skate ther when I'd have more fun for free.

I'm going to WoodWard this year. I heard they bought a college nearby and you take a bus there and skate the place. It has stairs, rails, benches, ledges, everything.

With all the people that go to Woodward, they can afford it.
