Today I ventured out and got confidence enough in my balance to start continous pushing. I got about 6 good kicks in untill I realized I was basically balancing on my right food while going ? mph and then I almost fell off due to this realization. I know this sounds weird, but it was more the realization that I was balancing one footed instead of having two feet on and occasionally bringing one off for a moment that gave me trouble. Anyone else have this sensation? Is this normal? If so I take it the only way to get better and more confidence is to grow comfortable balancing one foot while pushing, right?

That's basically what you're doing: balancing on your front foot, or back, depending on how you push. Just kinda practice it and you'll get used to it. Eventually, it will be second nature to you, and you'll cruise along like it's nothing.

maybe since your a beginner, your bearings might be a bit low quality and you need to push a lot, but if not, don't worry, as snaker said you will be comfortable with it. also woo rr got an update since i was last here

One thing I did when first learning to balance, would be to just roll along with your front froot on the board, and just keep your back foot hovering over the ground while you're rolling. It's a good way to keep your balance and at least get used to the sensation.

Keep practicing. It's all about your muscle fibers and muscle memorization. If you aren't in any athletics I can see how it would be a problem. Lifting and exercise is actually one of the best things you can do to improve your skating skill.

skateboarding is hard when you first begin and most people have some kinda problem and it will go away after time. just go and practice until you get it
