So I tried out my friends $45 skateboard on the road.
In my opinion, they slide way too easy.
So my question is, are they supposed to slide that easy?
Because when I'm on it, it's really hard for me to actually stay on the board.
Maybe it's my balance.
Or maybe I just need softer wheels, I guess.
What hardness are your wheels?
What hardness should be efficient for skating on roads and/or cement?
Does your skateboard slide as easy?
Or do you feel completely in control of your board?
Any advice?

It's probably your balance, if it's wet outside or you're skating on a really smooth surface then that's why.
What hardness are your wheels?
99a, hard enough to slide but not too much.

97-100a. Any softer would be for skating on really rough roads.

In complete control, I only slide on purpose.
Any advice?
Try out another board or slightly softer wheels.

Should I go with 97a wheels?

Yeah, they'll be more resistance to slides if that's what you want.

Alright.
Thanks man.
Oh, and I had a question about trucks if ya don't mind.
Should I go with Independents or Kruxes?

That's a toughie, if you're planning to learn grinds and you want pretty trucks, I'd go with the Krux. Independents are great all around.

I don't think I'll be grinding anytime soon.
I guess I'm gonna go with Independents.
Thanks dood.

Your friend's deck is a Wal-Mart deck. The wheels are crap so they have no grip. He loosed the trucks so they're really woblely, which explains why you always seem to talk about how you always loose your balence on his deck.

Weight doesn't affect your tricks.

it actually does...
think about it could you flip better, and ollie better with a lighter set up??
or with a heavy set up isnt so great for that opposite..
so in return wieght matters on a set up...to light is too bad ad too heavy is not good...so just get it how you want it..

Boards don't differ that much.

Dude, if you skated my setup and had a mentality like that, you would quit skating. So many people say how heavy my deck is. I don't feel it. I can ollie 5 decks, nearly 6. I do tech flip tricks( nolliebig heels, nollie tres, hardflip late reverts, etc), spins, etc. I skate a 8.25 board, 8+'' trucks, and 55 mm wheels. I can skate tranny and skate rails/ledges/etc too. I skate a lot of stairs as well. If I skate a small, tiny super light board, it actually makes things harder for me. Weight, if anything, gives the board more momentum to flip and spin, actually making it easier to do things once you get used to it.

didnt really think about that...
put heavier decks you have to put more power into your tricks phough...
i just skate wider decks thats how i like them though..with just some 52mm..but ya lighter decks do flip faster but more prone to overfliping. though.. i skate an 8.
