Yesterday I went to the park over in Okeechobee. I visit there every 3 weeks so I know alot of the people there. When I went it was just a very chill atmosphere and I knew most of the people there.
So we played a game of skate, and I won. Against everyone who played, I won! WOOT!! One of the kids there, Adrian, was the kid who taught me to Heelflip, and some other kid in the GOS had Tre's like butter.
Anyways, after 1 more GOS this kid showed up, and he was extremely douchebaggy and cocky saying stuff like " I don't even do flip tricks, and I know I'm going to win." "I'm the best dude just face it."
So I played him 1v1 GOS and I started out good, all I had to do was flip tricks on him. I got the Kickflip, Heelflip, Doubleflip Sexchange, Fakie flip, ands I ****ed up on the Fakie Heel.
He got the set and he absolutely demolished me with all of his shuvs, Late Shuv, Late FS Shuv, Switch Bigspin, all sorts of shit. Anyways, later on he turned out to be pretty cool. He taught me alot of stuff too. He pushed me to my limits. I showed him my Switch Ollie and Nollie, so he kept urging me on to Switch 180, and Nollie cab, Switch Flip, all sorts of crap.
He gave me some good tips, and he taught me how to Ollie to Nose Manny, and How to Ollie to Manual better. I Ollie-manualed the funboxed, and Nose Mannied the Halfpipe.
I couldn't get the 50-50 though, I find it hard to Ollie sideways. I Kickflipped off of the big fun box though.
I got lots of compliments on my style. Which I care about alot, because I always make sure I have steezy lines and steezy tricks, or else I won't count it.
The point of this thread is, try to be like this guy "Chad" and make a positive mood. I got so much more confidence, learned alot more, and just had an overall better time because of this. Have you guys experienced anything similar?
