Well after skating and not skating for a long time I am skating again :D I want to start skating vert because I have been going to the skatepark and the last time i went i progresed at vert skating ALOT! Also i used to like element but tehn i heard from everyone that they suck and they are right...i tried my friends and it skated OK but after watching him at teh skatepark it slowly started falling apart :-2: ....what are basics of vert skating i need to do....

Learn Ramps first....Normal, small Ramps I mean..

learn how to pump your knees and drop in. move on to kickturns and fakie ollies.

Fakie ollies? On a ramp for a begginer? I hope you mean ollie to fakie. Go for axle stalls, rock to fakies, rock and rolls aswell. All very easy and get you comfortable with the ramps.

i find fakie ollies easier, on a half-pipe though. not really a ramp trick.

learn to drop in then to pump then to do kickturns fs and bs then rock to fakie and then rock and roll and buy the time u learn those u should know what you want to do next

learn to pump by doing fakies. Then learn kickturns, both backside and frontside. Then learn to drop in, do axle stalls and grinds. Rock and rolls, rock to fakie, fakie tail stalls, backside 50/50s might be good to try after that.

Just some basic building block type moves similar to that others have suggested to get you going.
