It's not too bad. There are lots of tutorials, and if you head over to any linux community, they are usually more then happy to help you. It sounds a little daunting at first, but you can figure it out.

i have a compaq computer that used to run on win 98 but i stole a disk from my brothers room and put win xp sp1 on it. it is not the greatest thing in the world considering the hard drive is only 7.58 gb or something like that. i still like it though because it is in my room and i dont not have to go to the computer room and worry about that computer being used:)

Since getting my new own computer now, I have windows vista, and unlike others, I actually like it and have no problems at all. That's because you run it as a home computer I assume.
It's a pain in the ass when you try to use it with a small business network. And when you try to play a number of Multiplayer games. Especially when you try to use steam for games like Team Fortress 2 and Half Life.... It doesn't like the HL2 engine....or Steam period.
Oh, and I still use Win. XP

I actually use it for multiplayer use sometimes, steam games like Counter Strike Source and stuff and it most of the time works fine.

Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate is what I got and I seriously have no problems with it at all, only once in awhile does it crash when I'm playing Counter Strike Source or Half Life 2, but not even close to as much as XP did.
