ok well im not that new to skating .. But im new to vert (halfpipe).. And i can't seem to catch any air

you have to do back side or front side 180s at the peek for frontside airs..

jumpst do some hight ollies right before the coping..and luck happens..

You need to learn stalls first. Rock to fakies, Axle stalls, Maybe kickturns, Rock'n Roll, and i can't seem to think of any more but that is the basic stuff to learn before you go to start trying to get air.
