What do you skate for?

What do you skate for? I know what I do, I take what I find, and I make it into what I want it to be, then I skate it, I do it for myself. Who needs a camera, or to be known around the world? I don't. Who needs to be good? You get out there and have fun, for yourself. Don't do it for anybody else. I mean, if you do it for fame, or to get free shit. Then you're a total *****. I guess most of that was unessacary, but, what do YOU skate for?

recognition is always fun..."yeah you're that dude i saw skating up in town there".
i mostly skate for transportation. plus it's a great stress reliever. i just go out, have fun...sure i make a fool of myself a lot, but that doesn't bug me. i don't really care if i'm the only one in a park with a helmet and pads...it makes it even better when i wipe out all the time.
but mostly i skate for fun...that's what it's about, right? having fun?

Depends on what kinda day it is...

On an average day, i skate coz there's nothing better to do,...
Weekend,.......because watching kids wipe out at the park is fun...
Holidays,.....mostly coz my mates get outa school and we skate from dawn to dusk...

Well it change my life basically. I was bullied and picked on for most of my life and skateboarding Made me feel like a whole new person. It was like puberty, I started to change. I started to wear different clothes, longer hair, and a more mature attitude. I gained a lot more respect. When i get mad or come home from a stressful day at school I go home and skate for a hour or two with my best friends and have fun and mess around and get me in a good mood.

living in hawaii the skate/surf culture is such a huge part of everday life. the skaters i know are also the most chill people around, so that was a definite plus.
