so if i want to use my shortboard as a urban cruiser/commuter, what kind of basic skills would i need?
i know i need a turny setup (i got 1/4" risers with a turny bushing setup), and i'm looking at some 56mm 82a wheels. i'm running my habitat kerry getz with venture low front truck and venture high rear truck (don't ask, it came that way). i can safely guess i should learn to ollie at least 8" or so to safely clear the curb, and of course turning/carving to dodge pedestrians. is there anything else i need?

i'd also learn how to stop good. thats a pretty basic skill. just drag your foot or if you want to add some style learn to powerslide. some other basic tricks are b/s and f/s shuvs, b/s and f/s 180s, half cabs, etc. and you don't necessecarily (sp?) need a turny setup, just go with whatever's comfortable.

well thanks, i'm flattered that someone appreciates longboard ability...but i actually can't do stand-up slides lol...but i will work on them then. i got some autobahn all-road wheels coming sometime soon, but for the time being i'm on spitfires. is it just me or are spitfires quite sticky on concrete and asphalt?

okay i didn't actually get the autobahn all-roads, but (a friend got 'em for me from random x skateshop in orange county, CA) apparently the worker at RX said the wheels she got me were very similar to the autobahns...anybody have any experience with randomX? are they pretty knowledgable?
