you are not going to learn 2 tricks within 3 days. just forget about it, i've come to realize that everything has its time. something that seems impossible might become 2nd try landed another time. skating is not just about tricks, its about enjoyment and improvisation so jus cool it and just skate whatever

Just take a few days break and come back to it when you're ready.

Actually I learned both nollie flips and switch flips within 30 mins.
Thats besides the point... just keep a positive mind set and screw landing tricks. Just have fun.

That's different though, it's the same motion more or less but on different ends of the board. He's referring more to learning nollie flips and say... hardflips in the same 3 days. But you know this.

Learn Ollie to 50-50's first. they helped my tricks. and man, seriously, other tricks are out there. In Skatebrding you can do what you want, its not some measured thing where you have to learn Heelflips after such and such.

I've been trying to learn nollie heels the proper way for over 3 months now. No point in giving up.

dude, skate, have fun.
don't let simple things get you down, at all.
i have been working on kickflips for like, two years.
they're still sketchy as hell somtimes.
hell, my ollies have started to suck.
it's gotten to the point where i kickflip higher than my ollie.

Why do you say that, honestly?
I've thought about quitting skating, but did I? No. So does that still mean skateboarding is not my "thing"? You take into consideration of quitting when you're low on cash, injuries, etc.. that doesn't mean it's not your "thing"...
Just keep skating... take it easy and do tricks you know you can land and have fun with... just relax Because you can't land a trick doesn't mean you need to quit something you love to do, it comes with time. If you could land any trick you tried within a week skateboarding wouldn't be what it is. It takes lots of time and practice. Just keep trying, keep working on your kicks and pop shuvs. Then just combine both for your varial. If you try to hard you definatly aren't going to land it or even flip it properly. Heelflip just try to ollie. When you ollie when your front toes are hanging off and your back foot heel is hangin off the tail with only your toes on, it will heelflip. Bend down, ollie, lift your legs, land. That's all there is to it really. IMO kickflip is more complicated.
Don't quit if you really like it, and even then why would you want to? Think how good you will be in 3 more years..

Dont be so hard on yourself. If you don't have it now you will later. Give it a break as mentioned here earlier... Work on one and not both. And when all else fails, let it go and skate for while and do what makes you happy. Try getting into the habit of not letting frustration shut you down because you'll get it a lot the more difficult the tricks you are trying to learn become.
Good luck...

It's not like skateboarding is marriage, just stop for a while and if you eventualy want to go out and skate sometime you'll still have a board around.

A week isn't really that long, just clear your mind of any trouble, and try again.

If youre not having any fun with it try something else related to skating, or not related to skating. Sometimes it just takes time, sometimes its all mental, just relax and do something fun.

Exactly, don't treat skateboarding as chore, like it's a job you really hate, just have fun is really the main goal in skateboarding.

Don't listen to those people telling you to give up, they're crazy.
You'll get it eventually, If you keep trying.
It took me 2 years to learn a kickflip and i still cant get it right.
