Dude,
That was cool footage! What kind/hardness of wheels are these people running? That's a style of skating that is a bit too gnarl for me! I hope all the participants have wheel/bearing hook-ups.

well i saw some earthwing superball slide wheels (62mm 97a slide urethane), but people slide the 60mm minilogo wheels, spitfire wheels are actually quite good for sliding IME, abec11 noskoolz in higher duros...basically any wheel around 60mm and above 88a are good for techy slides like that (granted any wheel can be slidden, but 88a is the softest i'd go for smooth technical slides). although, you can go smaller (i find that i can slide faster on my 54mm spits than my 62mm earthwing wheels...but the EW's are more controllable, so it evens out in the end)
really you can eliminate most bearing damage by using speedrings and bearing spacers...just gotta tighten the axle nut until it stops...it will still roll as smooth with your weight on it, but it eliminates 99% of side-to-side play
as far as sponsorships or wheel hookups, i'd venture to say that most of the people in that video are just running out of their own pockets. i know a few companies that will flow skaters, and a few less that will actually sponsor them. i'm kinda looking for flow/sponsorship in sliding, but i gotta get a video together first

When you generate your footage of you bombing hills and sliding like a madman, I hope you post it up here!
Seriously, I can't help but think the wheels are fried after one session, if not run ;)

^^^Although a bit blurred, it is apparent that's burly stuff. I look forward to more shots for the "diversity" factor. I enjoy seeing, watching and learning about varied approaches to skateboarding :-41:
