if you can swing it, i'd say go for indy trucks...i love the ventures i got but the QC is a little lacking...you can see the axle sticking through the hangar in a few spots. other than that, it looks GREAT

Basically anything will do when you're beginning. But keep in mind that you will chip the nose/tail on your decks a lot when you're beginning.

You've got some good tips thus far, and I agree with DCskater: anything will get you going since you're new to skating. But, I think you'll learn quicker with quality parts than what the sporting good store or Wal-mart has. Moreover, it will prove more durable.

Since you're just getting started, I think you've got a cool set up. At this stage of learning, your trucks are probably going to last the longest of all the components on your skateboard, and Ventures, Indy, Thunder and Krux all seem to get a lot of props around here. Although I don't personally skate Ventures, they've been producing trucks since the mid-80s, which is noteworthy, for sure. Same goes for Thunder Trucks. Indy has been making trucks since the late 70s, which is also noteworthy.

As you progress in your skating and replace your equipment, you'll try different stuff and find gear you like better than others. That's all in part of the fun, IMO. At this stage of your game, keep it basic with some known trucks (like Ventures), for example, and you're off to a great start.

Have fun.

^he's got an AWS, not Chinese.

Looking good man! Thats nearly a perfect setup for myself. However, you have an 8inch board. For a beginner like yourself, you might not like this. For a beginner, the fatter the board, the harder it is to spin. You might wanna try a smaller deck like a 7.63. Your call though!

i think that site is a bit expensive, with 100 dollar decks. ALso, im pretty sure you only have 1 truck and 1 bearing considering how cheap it is. Try ordering off blankdecks.com, 20 dollar decks that are better than some brands on there.
And china made products are okay, they are same quality as the american made stuff since the factories arent from chinese companies. They are from american companies that would get sued in a heartbeat for defective products.
