yeah.. so the Deck prices in Sydney upped again, and now I cant afford it, unless I stoop to the level where I start riding world industries Decks.
Does anyone know a way to make Decks last longer? I tried shoe gooing the tail, and it ripped off in a day.. so I been doing more Fakie and Nollie tricks.
Does anyone know a better way?

I can't imagine the prices going up SO much you can't afford the difference. Just what are you talkin bout here, like a 200% price increase....doubt it.

Anyways, your money situation....you're 18, get a job.

Blankdecks DOT com.

Ebay is your buddy.

How long a deck lasts is a toss of the cards, the only way to *almost* ensure a long life, is to not skate anything big/that you could break it on easily. Or, just pick up Freestyle.

=))))

British decks ftw!

I'm saving up for a local team deck. Shire Skateboards. It looks pretty sick and everyone says they are good so it should be ace! =] £30 which I don't know how much in Aussie :/

^^^ Yeah and the UK sounds worse.

I try to buy off american internet sites but then I have to pay like $40-50 for postage so it works out the same.

We get ripped off for everything, not just decks.

Krinksy

What do you mean?

European decks are even more because the exchange rate is worse.\

What's a cliche deck?

A HUNDERD AND THIRTY??!?? Dam man, I usually get the ones on discount.. I got a Zero that was 100.. bitched for ages till I got it down to 90.. and its lasted me about a month. $130 are for the newest pro models I guess

British exchange rate is different.. plus you pay shit all for petrol and cars, and houses (England at least, when I was there) a new car there is the price of a second hand 3 year old of the same model here..

Trust me.. and with a job, it'd take me err 10 hours of work to get a Deck. Not cool.. And Cliche (French brand) dont sell for cheaper.. Bloody Australia sometimes.. (Resumes Nollie and Fakie tricks)

Holy crap. Now when you guys list the prices for decks in Aussieland and England, that's US dollars ain't it?

That's crazy yo. So what's the minimum wage over in Aussie and over at England?

Krinksy
09-11-2007, 08:23 AM
I dunno what minimum wage is but I get $8.4 Aus dollars an hour.

TrAnCe

RooR.. minimum wage doesnt mean shit in Oz..
How much does it pay per hour if you work at Mcdonalds, Britons and Americans?

RooR
09-12-2007, 07:01 AM
I can't tell if you meant, your min. wage is low over there or if you meant the amount you get paid isn't important...

In the United States, minimum wage is a Federal and State issue. The Federal Government sets it at something, which I am not sure of, but last I checked, the minimum wage here in California is $7.25 an hour now I believe.

Krinksy

Over here I think there are different minumums for different jobs.

I think so.

cause sterling is worth more than dollars. Cost of living is relative to where you live. To us it's normal. UK jobs pay appropiate. Thats one good thing, everywhere else is always cheaper.

TrAnCe

So thats 10 hours work at mcdonalds.. In Oz its about 12ish :-s Plus clothes and petrol.. but at least our mcdonalds is cheaper (I recall a meal being £5.00 when I was there.. in Oz its $6.00 AUD)
At least we have good weather :-) I think I'll just stick with shop blanks for a while.. till I can afford good decks more often I guess..
