This one took me a while to learn. The tip for me was not to pop too hard, and make sure when you land, KEEP YOUR BACK LEG STIFF! That way if you land in the manual, it's not for 2 seconds and you keep it.
To prevent from landing in a tail scratch is just a matter of leaning, which will take some work on. I have them pretty much down when it is straight, but when it comes to something like a Semi-Circle I mess up.
So I recommend learning these straight,BS and FS. Have fun with these, real useful trick, you can then Kickflip into it, or Shuv it out, stuff like that.

It takes a while to get the feel for landing in manual and keeping it there. What I do is give it just enough pop to land on it.
You don't want to over jump the surface and under jump it. So give it just enough pop to land on top and level it out a lot and just put your weight on your back foot. And if you keep your FRONT foot stiff then it will stay around the same angle and shouldn't scrape the tail or land on the wheels as easy.
What helped me was to put my back foot just covering the 2 bolts closest to the tail when I get into the manual.

I learned something new today.
If I feel better ( My throat is killing me) I'll go out and try to keep my Front leg stiff rather than my back leg. Then I'll try both, which I'm sure won't work.
When landing in a manual it's all about what is comfortable for you. I pop where you would for a FS 180, so when my foot comes off in the air, it lands in the middle of the tail.
This works for me because my backfoot always comes off when I Ollie, it's all up to the rider though.
Good luck.

Don't lean back to far after you ollie, and actually going faster helps.

Exactly what I was trying to say. Then when your foot lands in the middle of the tail then it's a lot easier to adjust to being in manual.

Sorry bro, I didn't mean to get you all blood-thirsty to skate, lol.
I guess that's good motivation though?
Anywhom, if it's 20 Decks width then good job there. Your camera didn't serve justice to that manny pad!
