Melons

I've been attempting these for a while now off my parks launch ramp. I just cant seem to grab at the right time and ollie high enough. usually ill grab late and the board will go flying. Anny suggestions or little things that would help with melons in general? thanks.

I love this trick.

I find melon grabs a hell of a lot easier to do off launch ramps if you tweak your ollie a bit. Learn tweaked ollie off of it, by pushing your front foot down slightly, and pulling your back foot up.

Reach down RIGHT after you tweak it, and grab the board. Try to hold it until you have to let go, but when you first learn it, you might only tip it.

Yeah, from what I've seen, you have to push your board forward so it's easier to grab, and makes the trick look sick.

yeah i can only tip mine... i will try to tweak my ollie when i do them to try and hold it longer

alright thanks guys, im getting the hang of them a little more. landed a few.
i have trouble grabing the board sometimes, i just flickthe ollie real hard an i sometimes lose contron. Tweaking helps alot though.

I can't melon for the life of me, but they look amazing. My friend, Tim, skates a lot of vert and throws down mad grabs and shit. Last time we went to my friends little private skatepark, Tim kickflip indys the 8ft deathwall, then mellons the gap from the gnar bank ramp to the transition into the miniramp which is about a 5ft gap and about a 8ft high air. They are just amazing. Grabs in general.

the feel of landing a flatland trick (unless its for the first time) isnt anything compared to the fun of landing a clean grab
