You have to commit to it, and scoop the full rotation. I just started learning them and I feel the same way. It's alot harder than fs. But, you mainly have to really scoop the whole way and commit. I usually slide out or I don't scoop enough and land like 145 and stop. Have more of your backfoot covering the whole tail, opposite of fs but I wouldn't necesarilly have your toes hanging off, but I guess which ever you like. Act like you're doing a bs shuv it with a body varial, that might help.

listen to scharkey's advice.....
but i learned half cab's first, and that helped me a lot on back 180's. just commit and you'll be fine.

Swing your shoulders more, also what happend to me when I was learning I would keep all my weight forward to much and the board would fly out from under, be prepared to shift your weight.

Make sure you wind your shoulders the opposite way you spin. And then when you pop and start to spin around, unwind your shoulders and guide your shoulders around and your feet should follow.

The biggest problem is when people duck their head in when they turn, don't tuck your head in.

These are such a bitch to keep consitent.
Because I have so much trouble with BS 180's I have trouble with reg. Half-Cabs and it pisses me off.
I usually land toe-touch, but my weight is evenly distributed, I don't know how that works. Also, most of the time it's never a perfect rotation.

you HAVE to use your shoulders on this trick if you want them the clean 180 way.
and if you want them that 90 pivot way, then you don't really have to wind up.
wind up your shoulders and release. that's all there is to it.

And maybe have your front foot closer to the front bolts.
And have you toes on your front foot hanging off.
