use your back foot to spin it and your front to guide it.

Have the toes of your back foot hanging off the tail.
And have your heel of your front foot hangin off too.
You might want to have your front foot in the kickflip position.
Have your front foot somewhere in between the middle of your board and the front bolts. Make sure you don't flick your front foot, causing it to flip. And when you spin the board, you spin with your back foot and your front foot doesn't help much. So your front foot my kick the board forword.
So there's your problem: You are using to much of your front foot.
Any questions?

Another quick tip it to pop down more than scoop the board. Something that helps me is to pop it down and forward a little.

as you pop and scoop, jump forward with the board so you can land on it. just get used to that motion of popping and jumping forward, and you'll have them in no time.
