VARIAL KICKFLIPS.
Um...Can't do 'em.
Ok, here are my problems:
1. I get a perfect flip, but i only spin it about 90 degrees.
2. I spin it perfectly, But it flips half way.
3. I get the perfect spin and flip, but it ends up infront of me.
Um...Still can't do 'em
Plz help. Thank you! : )

I can barely varial, but the trick seems to be in the Pop, not the Scoop.
I only scoop for tricks that go 360 degrees or more, so since this trick only goes 180, I keep my back foot just a little behind the center of the tail.
When I pop I make sure to flip straight forward so that it guides it, controls it, and keeps it under you.
Remember to jump to the side, unless you can keep them perfectly under you, in which case you'll only have to jump up.
That's all my advice I have for Varials, because I'm not to good at them.
Good luck with these.

Okay, im getting better.
I get a perfect flick most of the time, it spins 3/4 of the way, but the board lands infront of me.

gotta practice the perfect balance between flip and spin and then just jump forward. Sounds like your getting them though.

treat it like a pop shuv it and jump with it. just land it when the flip is done rotating.

Like they said, treat that trick a shove it, but you gotta(well in my opinion) flick harder than a kickflip.

Its going to land in front of you, so just jump forward with it.

I usually stand with the ball of my back foot in the very middle of the tail, and with my front foot on the tip of my foot at a slight angle 2 inches behind the trucks. When I flick I will almost do like a ninja kick,
like the first bitch does, sorry for the bad example....

this how i set up for a varial,
I put my back foot on the tail with my toes hanging off a little, and my front foot at a angle-like a kickflip-but have my foot lower. Because if i but my front foot by the bolts i don't get much spin.
Is that okay?

Sounds like a good stance to me.
I usually put my front foot at more of an angle for varials compared to regular kickflips though

Are you kidding?
Varial flips are so easy. Way easier than fs or bs flips.
And Slyde is right, it's in the pop. Scoop is more for 3 flips.

can u pop shuv? and can u kick flip? u need to kno those...
if u do: pop a shvit the once its reached about40 degrees of the rotation add a flick thats not flicking up, its flicking diagonally of the board. once ur spinin and flippin jump forward like you would for a pop shuv stomp it downs and land it like youve been doing em for 700 years. look up some trick tips aswell. and don't think about it to much even though its alot to process. my first varial i was just messin around and not even meaning to land one, when every thing spun into place and there i was, on bolts and ridin away....

If you aren't scooping it you're pressuring it...
